LittleP6 is a lot like TinyD6 and Advanced Tiny Dungeons, but built to be more modular. It takes some basic ideas from Core D8 and DC20, giving it, it's modularity without totally leaving behind its simple beginnings. The main ideas behind LittleP6 were:

  1. Add simple Attributes you can level up
  2. PC should succeed more often than not when at their skill level. (Average ~70% success)
  3. Add Class Structures, but still keep most basic Traits open to all
  4. Be able to run longer campaigns
  5. Be customizable (Homebrew Friendly) and allow players and GMs to work together to build their story how they want to.
  6. Make it easy for the GM to build creatures on thier own, so they can focus on the story at hand

LittleP6 aims to be a rules medium platform to allow modularity, but keep it simple. Allowing rules light users to level up their play and an escape to a more narrative based game with simple rules for more advanced ttrpg players.

Where does the P come from

The P stands for Poisson Distribution, this idea originally came from Core D8, where a Poisson Distribution better represent human talent. Though Core D8 use d8 dice and we wanted users to still be able to use the household d6 dice. The distribution is still pretty nice, and keeps success rates around 70% for normal skill level. It also makes it closer to 80-90% if you are above average at the skill and closer to 50% if you are below average. In the US this is how school works, so we say it's close enough 😀.

GM Support

The Poisson Distribution makes it easier for the GM to build challenges for their players. If they want most of thier players to succeed a challenge place the Difficulty Level at the highest Prime Attribute level in the group. If they want it to be a bit more difficult add +1 or +2 to Difficulty Level and most of the group will probably fail.

We also provide mechanics for creating traps, spells, and creatures, to prevent obstacles and/or creatures from becoming to overpowered or OP.

Primes, Classes, Stamina, & Mana

The idea of Prime Attributes, Classes, Stamina, and Mana comes from DC20. DC20 has some great ideas and we love them. One thing TinyD6 didn't have was away to limit magic or users from using their traits obsessively. Yes you could use 1d6, and if you roll a one and your done, but we wanted something a little more concrete. So we borrowed the idea of stamina and Mana from DC20, with our own little twist to make it a little more simple. We also are using some of the same classes with some of the same "Traits". But put into the "Tiny" world platform. And the last idea influenced by DC20, is it's Prime Modifier/Attribute, this is what is used for some special tests, though rolling of course is a little different 😀.

TinyD6 & Advanced Tiny Dungeons

Last but not least this game takes a lot from TinyD6 and it's big brother Advanced Tiny Dungeons. We use simple Tests and Difficulty levels to determine what passes and what doesn't. We also use some of the same traits, but we take a different approach to game play mechinics.

Supplies

To get started playing you will only need:

  • 2x 6 sided dice
    • If playing a level 7+ character, you could potentially need 3x 6 sided dice
    • If playing a level 14+ character, you could potentially need 4x 6 sided dice
    • If playing a level 20+ character, you could potentially need 5x 6 sided dice
  • 2x 6 sided dice of a different color
  • 1x coins (quarters are preferred)
  • scrape paper
  • pencil

Optional Supplies

If you are running a full campaign we suggest you get custom dice with 3 different colors modified with the Roll Table:

  • 4x 6 sided white or blue dice
  • 2x 6 sided red dice (Disadvantage Dice)
  • 2x 6 sided green dice (Advanatage Dice)

We suggest using our Adventurer Sheet to help track your characters growth.

We would also suggest using Game Tokens to keep track of your Health, Stamina, and Mana Pools. Follow the links for the ones we use.

Custom ADV and DIS coins would be cool! But definitely the least nessesary. Maybe check out Noble Knight, for some options.

NOTE: All of these, just makes things easier but they are not nessesary to play!

Open Source

LittleP6 is an open source TTRPG, which makes it unique! Everyone has access to it and can help contribute to the project. Or you can publish your own homebrew rules built on top of this project free of charge and licensing!

If you would like to suggest new Traits/Abilities, Classes, or Fix some spelling or grammitical errors, jump on over to our GitHub page and open a new issue 😀.

If you want to help contribute and regulate the project, create a pull request and someone will review your changes before commiting.

AI Images

At the moment we use AI Art 😔. I know, not great. If any artist out there would like to contribute some art we would love to use it! Though since we are an open source project we won't be able to pay you 😔. Just open and issue on our GitHub page
